Other BOA DUA Debit Card Notes
- Ideal for residents of Massachusetts who collect unemployment insurance (UI) as it comes with no hidden fees (i.e. check cashing fees that are found in low-income areas)
- The DUA Debit Card will be accepted anywhere the MasterCard logo is present
- Receive cash at ATMs, and at MasterCard affiliated banks and credit unions 🙂
- Will not hurt a credit score (likewise it will not help improve a score either)
- After a person receiving IU claims their weekly benefit payment the funds will be sent to the DUA card within 2 days
- Funds can be used until exhausted
- The card is cost–efficient, secure, easy-to-use, and provides many options for making withdrawals and purchases 🙂
- Customers cannot have additional funds loaded onto the card 🙁
- An International ATM Withdrawal will cost the card holder 85 cents per transaction 🙁
- When making a payment with the card at a gas station a $100 hold may be placed on the account (customers will want to pay inside to avoid this hold)
- The $100 hold may also apply when making payments at hotels and restaurants
- No fees will be charged when using a Bank of America or Allpoint ATM but all other ATM’s will cost the card holder a transaction fee in the neighborhood of $3
- Recipients can transfer funds from their debit card to their own bank account but this is usually not recommended
