A class action lawsuit slapped on Venus Laboratories, Inc has come to a preliminary settlement. The approval was reached on November 5th, 2015 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. People who purchased a Venus Earth Friendly Product between the dates of January 23rd, 2011 and November 5th, 2015 may be entitled to a small slice of that settlement pie. Class members who believe they are entitled to some of the cold hard cash better get moving as they will need to submit a valid Claim Form postmarked or submitted online on or before February 15th, 2016.
The class action lawsuit alleges that the Earth Friendly Product are not natural and that the “natural” label is inaccurate and deceptive. In fact, the plaintiff’s allege that an unnatural ingredient called methylisothiazolinone or MIT can be found in the product and is not only unnatural but also is a powerful allergen and skin irritant. Venus on the other hand denies all of the plaintiffs’ allegations but is entering into this settlement to avoid burdensome and costly litigation. By coming to terms of a settlement Venus does not admit to any wrongdoing.
The Final Approval Hearing is set for March 15th, 2016 and will decide whether or not to approve this class action settlement. Unfortunately for class members looking for some quick cash, payments cannot be made until this hearing is completed. In the meantime class Members can take swift action by going online to the designated settlement website and filing a claim.
