- Locate missing iPhone, iPad, iPad Touch, or Mac
iPhone users can breathe a little easier knowing that it is possible to locate their phones by using iCloud. In addition to locating the device, users can lock the phone remotely and erase data in order to help protect their privacy. The process works not only for the iPhone but the iPad, iPad Touch, and Mac as well.
To get started on the process of securing their private information users will need to jump on the web and go to the designated webpage. Once on the page users will see a Sign In to iCloud box where an Apple ID and password is required to complete the necessary sign-in process that allows users to locate their devices. Before signing-in users will have the option of checking a box that will keep them signed-in in the future.
There are a couple of ways to proceed for users that have forgotten their IDs, forgotten their passwords, or simply do not have an ID. Users that have forgotten their IDs or passwords will need to click on the Forgot Apple ID or Password? link provided. Once clicked users will be directed to a page that will allow them to enter their Apple IDs in order to recover their passwords. Users that have forgotten their Apple IDs will need to click on the Forgot Apple ID link that can be found on this page. After clicking on the Forgot Apple ID link users will be directed to a new page where they will need to enter their first name, last name, and email address in order to recover their Apple ID. Users that do not have an Apple ID will need to click on the Don’t have an Apple ID? Create yours now link that can be found on the designated webpage. Once the link is clicked users will need to enter their first name, last name, date of birth, and then answer the chosen security questions to continue.
It’s time for iPhone users who have lost their phones to take a deep breath, stay calm, and look to iCloud for help.
