A card that hasn’t been activated is like car without gas – COMPLETELY USELESS. Once at the page the customer must enter a card number along with its expiration date to proceed (expiration date must be entered in MM/YY format through use of a drop down box). Before clicking the Activate button the cardholder must enter a zip code along with a TIN or SSN (TIN or SSN is needed to verify identity for an added layer of security while activating the card). By the way, cardholders can click the Privacy Policy to find out how SunTrust uses and collects information (the link posted at the top right side of the SunTurst Activate My Card page).
